Serve San Marcos

Local volunteering made interesting and easy!

Vounteering should be easy, interesting and make a difference! But too often it can be difficult to find volunteering opportunties, it can be almost impossible to coordinate schedules, and it becomes a hassle to track service hours.

ServeSanMarcos.org is a community project that brings volunteers and nonprofits together in San Marcos. With a simple search, volunteers can explore the wide variety of ways to help their local community. You can help with education, food, nature, animals, housing, health, and many other ways. Connect with a project you are passionate about and explore new ways to serve!

We are here to connect peoples passions with the community needs.  In under 5 minutes, volunteers can review and signup for help on projects. Gone are the days of phone tag and hours of long emails.  And once the project is complete - its as simple as entering hours served to automatically create a civic transcript that records service details with  hours.

2019 Spring Break Border Mission Hope

Border Mission Hope

Spring Break Mission Trip

March 17-21, 2019

Join the United Campus Ministry of Texas State as we partner with college students from around Texas and with Mission Border Hope in Eagle Pass, TX.

https://www.missionborderhope.org/

During the day, team members will build relationships with local Christians and encourage their ongoing ministry while helping with building projects. Many families are still struggling to recover from severe flooding of the Rio Grande which left homes in great need of repair.  We will bring resources, tools and hope to the border town.

Afterschool, team members will energize and rock the literacy program for local kids.  Being present and engaging with the students to plant seeds of new possibilities in their imaginations and futures.

We'll have some down time, some fun time and some worship time to keep us growing and going in God.

The estimated student cost is an all-inclusive $50 including lodging (bunk beds), meals, and ground transporation ( car pooling) . Students can bring extra money for souveniers, snacks and drinks, and other items. Students will be expected to take shifts in the various tasks of the mission trip from meal prep, clean up, tool round up at the end of a work day, worship music and more.

Wheels roll out Sunday, March 17 at noon and we return 1 pm on Thursday, March 21.

Please note the Monday February 18 deadline for the $50 non-refundable despoit to secure a space on the mission trip!  The deposit can be made via check/card online at give.ucmtxstate.org or given to Pastor Todd or Pastor Suzette
